A deployment project driven by the operators Punt d'Accés, Som Connexió, and the Guifi·net Foundation, with the support of the Valls City Council, the Comunalitat de Valls, and the Social Economy program of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Next Thursday, September 22, at seven in the evening, the Teatre Principal de Valls will host the presentation of the fiber optic network of the city of Valls, XANETA.
The event, presented by the Comunalitat de Valls, will also feature the screening of the documentary "Última Milla", by Hans de Dalmau, which shows the experience of a group of people from Ribera d'Ebre who, fleeing from the speculation of the major fiber optic operators, have connected the territory in an alternative and sustainable way.
Therefore, the presentation will serve to introduce the characteristics and operation of XANETA. A network that, following the model of the Guifi·net common network, will provide quality internet, free from speculation, with local services, and at affordable prices.
Furthermore, it aspires to be a more sustainable connectivity model, allowing various operators to provide service through a single fiber optic network, thus avoiding the multiplicity of infrastructures with the environmental and aesthetic cost that this entails for the population.
